In this edition, we’ll be highlighting Leslie A. Biskner, CCIM, who serves as the Executive Vice President of Commercial Lending at CBS. She leads credit union loan originations, cultivates key relationships, and drives strategic growth initiatives throughout Central Ohio and beyond.
Hi, Leslie! What’s a fun or interesting fact about you?
I have a goal to visit every single National Park in the US. I have been to about half so far. And in case you are wondering, there are 63. I have seen more than 1,000 music concerts. I have upcoming tickets to see Carlos Santana, AC/DC, Trombone Shorty and Rush. Oh, I just joined the Linked In community at the very end of 2023. I know, late to the party…
What’s a motto that you live by?
If it’s worth doing, make it memorable. You only live once.
How many years have you worked at CBS?
Almost 20!
What does your role look like on a day-to-day basis?
I structure capital! I connect people and support credit unions. Along the way, I mentor, write and collaborate to move ideas into action, and loans into closing.
What is your favorite part about working at CBS?
My favorite part of working at CBS is the relationships. I’ve had the opportunity to build lasting connections and lifelong friendships across the commercial real estate community, and I truly enjoy meeting new people and expanding that network. I also value the flexibility to manage my time in a way that allows me to be present, engaged, and effective in growing the business.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
What I enjoy most about my role is that no two days are ever the same. One minute I’m talking through a deal, the next I am solving a challenge or exploring a new opportunity. There is always something crazy popping into my email box.
What has been your most significant career milestone while working at CBS?
A standout milestone for me has been the journey itself… earning my CCIM designation, stepping into an Executive Vice President role, and being invited to speak and share ideas along the way. It’s all been made even more meaningful by being part of a culture that genuinely supports growth. Also, having the reputation, where my peers will say, “Call Leslie, she always picks up the phone…”.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I love spending time with my husband and our one-year-old Bernedoodle, ZuZu, who keeps us laughing and on the move. She is a goofball.
What are some things that you’re most proud of?
Professionally, I am incredibly proud of my CCIM journey, from earning my designation in 2010, to serving as Ohio Chapter President in 2018, graduating from the Jay W. Levine Leadership Development Academy in 2020, and advancing to CCIM Institute Region 7 Vice President in 2023. I was honored to be elected to the CCIM Institute Board of Directors in 2025 and named one of four Presidential Liaisons for 2027. Beyond CCIM, I am also proud to be a legacy donor supporting two very special local charities here in Ohio and a third one on a national level.
